Rosebuds Pre-Primary School launches Grade 000 at St Teresa's School

The new pre-primary section at St Teresa's School, offering Grade 000 and Grade 00, officially launched on Saturday 17th September in Craighall Park, Johannesburg.

Rosebuds Pre-Primary at St Teresa's School is based within our beautiful campus in Craighall Park, Johannesburg for girls aged 3-5 years old. At Rosebuds Pre-Primary, we have adopted the world-renowned Reggio Emilia approach as one of our foundational philosophies.

This approach is based on the belief that every child is unique, expresses their interests in different ways and has a natural curiosity, leading to spontaneous and dynamic learning. School Principal Lynne Elfick describes the space as an ideal environment for innovative and collaborative play where children have the freedom to create, experiment and engage freely with the world around them.

“Rosebuds is a place where young children can discover and explore their world engaging with nature and one another. We encourage self-expression, imagination and problem-solving. While the children interact with their surroundings, they discover and make connections, they examine and experiment and this in turn leads to exciting revelations and even more learning. We know that preschoolers learn through play, which is why it is important that they have the opportunity to play in a variety of ways from an early age. Imaginative and fantasy play gives them the opportunity for self-expression and develops essential life skills such as social interactions, problem-solving and planning.”

On Saturday, we hosted an Open Day for prospective parents to view our beautiful new facilities and the response we received from parents was exceptionally positive. From the newly renovated classrooms to the upgraded gardens and playing areas, young girls are sure to get an exceptional start to their education journey at Rosebuds Pre-Primary School at St Teresa's School.
