Outreach Programme...
An important endeavor of our Mercy School is showing love and compassion for those
on the outskirts of society. Every grade is involved in some sort of Outreach undertaking,
whether it is making Christmas crackers in Grade 8, knitting in Grade 9, the Noah
Project in Grade 10 or the Parish AIDS Initiative in Grade 11. Many
visits have been arranged to Orange Farm and the Winterveldt, with
many girls visiting these places during their school holidays. Our girls are very
generous in their time and effort in giving to others.
The schools Interact Club is a voluntary group of girls who do all they can
to help the lives of those less fortunate than themselves. They visit many centres,
homes and clinics on Friday afternoons, once school is finished for the week. Currently
the girls are involved with The Immaculata Hall in Rosebank, TLC Care for
Orphans and the Mother Teresa Home for AIDS Victims.
