The Foundation Phase
A warm welcome to the Foundation Phase of St Teresa’s School. At the Craighall
Park section of our school we are fortunate to have a unique situation. We have
a whole-school campus to accommodate the needs of our Grade 00 to grade 3 age-group.
Our large, bright classrooms and varied facilities are situated in beautiful gardens,
which give a warm and homely feel.
The atmosphere at our school is a gentle, happy and friendly one, as it is our intention
for each pupil to grow, flourish and thrive. Our girls are helped to function confidently
as individuals and to perform successfully in co-operative situations.
The essence of our school is respect for self, respect for others and respect for
the environment which sustains all life. All of these aspects are manifested throughout
the school day as integral ingredients of our “Mercy Ethos”.
Our educational curriculum combines the best of the traditional and the more modern,
creative systems. Education is never static and we embrace new, sound ideas to ensure
that high standards are maintained.
As a girls only school, we are able to concentrate on the needs of our young ladies,
enabling them to develop all of the skills required to function as well-adjusted
adults. We encourage socialising with boys as an out-of-school experience!
For me, it is a privilege to be part of our “Mercy Team”. We have courteous
and enthusiastic pupils, as well as involved and caring parents and staff members,
all of whom are both loyal and dedicated.
